With over 10 years of hands-on experience in clinical research, Anna Cartwright brings a rare depth of knowledge and leadership to her role as Co-Founder and CEO of Clinical Compliance Group, LLC. Her career has spanned nearly every critical aspect of site operations, giving her a unique perspective on the challenges sites face — and the solutions they need to succeed.
Starting her journey as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), Anna quickly gained a reputation for precision, dedication, and a deep understanding of protocol execution and patient care. Her natural leadership and eye for detail led her into roles in Quality Assurance, where she developed and implemented SOPs, streamlined workflows, and ensured regulatory compliance across diverse therapeutic areas.
As a Study Audit Preparation Manager, she guided clinical sites through successful audits and inspections by sponsors and regulatory bodies, equipping teams with the tools and training needed to meet industry standards. Her ability to anticipate challenges and build systems that ensure readiness became a hallmark of her work.
Recognizing the critical role of financial accuracy in site sustainability, Anna transitioned into billing and finance, where she served as a Finance Director. In this role, she led efforts to recover outstanding payments, developed efficient invoicing systems, and trained site staff on financial best practices — all with the goal of helping sites get paid faster and more consistently.
Recognizing that many sites struggled with the complexities of billing and the burdens of CTMS management, in early 2023, Anna Cartwright and Ashley Winters created CCG to offer specialized solutions that streamline workflows, improve financial accuracy, and boost overall efficiency. Their hands-on, collaborative approach quickly set CCG apart as a trusted partner to sites across the industry.
By combining deep operational knowledge with a commitment to client success, Anna and Ashley have built CCG into a company that empowers research teams to grow confidently, reduce administrative strain, and ultimately flourish.
Ashley Winters

Ashley Winters is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Clinical Compliance Group (CCG), bringing more than 16 years of progressive experience in the clinical research industry. Her career began at a research site, where she served as a Clinical Research Coordinator and earned her Certified Clinical Research Coordinator Certification (CCRC).
Demonstrating exceptional leadership and operational expertise, she advanced to the role of Site Director before being appointed Director of Finance and Strategic Planning.
Over time, Ashley's focus shifted exclusively to the financial management of clinical research operations. She moved into the role of Finance Director and began working with multiple research sites across the United States, providing comprehensive support in budgeting, payment reconciliation, and financial oversight. Her efforts have consistently helped sites streamline their processes, improve cash flow, and alleviate the administrative burdens that can hinder day-to-day operations.
In 2023, drawing on her extensive industry knowledge and commitment to advancing site sustainability, Ashley co-founded Clinical Compliance Group with her business partner Anna Cartwright.
Their mission is clear: to bridge the gap between research sites and sponsors, ensuring that sites are fully supported both operationally and financially. Guided by CCG’s motto, “We Put the VOICE in Invoice,” she advocates for the fair treatment and financial stability of every site the company serves.
With her unique blend of hands-on site experience and deep financial expertise, Ashley understands the time, dedication, and resources required to operate a successful clinical research site. She remains steadfast in her commitment to empowering research sites, improving their operational efficiency, and championing their role in advancing medical innovation. Ashley has extensive experience utilizing multiple Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), including Clinical Conductor, RealTime, and eClinPro, which she has leveraged to streamline clinical operations and improve site efficiency.
